After the restyling in the body design of the industrial printer range models made last spring, CAB is also being renewed in a software key, with the release of the X4 firmware update for EOS2/EOS5, MACH 4S, SQUIX, XD Q, HERMES Q, AXON and PX Q printers.

The new version 5.42 comes after a series of continuous developments and revisions to allow for new features and easier modes of use.

Among the new changes:

• support for new SQUIX 8.3/300 models

• support for new ROHM 4"/600dpi print head

• support for external label sensor on SQUIX and HERMES Q models

• support for ribbon saver on XD Q model

• on open print head, the display shows 'Printhead open' instead of 'Ready'

• disabled feed button in display on open print head

• blinking feed button in display in applicator mode and unsynced labels

• added possibility to use an input dialog to change value of numeric settings in display

• improved support for TIFF image formats

• fixed calculation of RFID TID length

• fixed assignment of IP address when switching between DHCP and static address

• new error message on a IP address conflict (IP address multiple times assigned)

• added applicator parameters and statistic values to system log export

• hint in the I/O test dialog to attach the test adapter

JScript:

• extended [BIN:] command to support hex byte sequences without using a comma as separator

• 'd' command to download binary data supports encoding the data as Base64 using <BASE64> ... </BASE64>

ZPL:

• new status bar icon which indicates a data interface set to ZPL mode

• fixed reading and deleting of files using ^ID command within the same label

abc:

• fixed buffer overwrite which leads to JScript syntax errors
