NEW DA INK: VIPCOLOR PRESENTS A REVOLUTIONARY FORMULA

Quality and quantity: with the latest innovation, VipColor imposes itself on the market!

From the second half of 2024, the new DA ink formulation, developed by Memjet Technologies for VipColor printers, is available. This formula not only responds to the growing global shortage of dyes, but uses superior quality ingredients, readily available.

Distributed by Eurocoding, VipColor printers (with Memjet technology) produce color labels for various applications, from high-class retail to labels for weathered goods and maritime environments, and are renowned for printing accuracy and sharpness and vividness of the colors produced.

Great merit of this certainly goes to the advanced technology of VipColor machines, but also to the quality of the inks used. Unfortunately, in recent years, the ink manufacturing industry has suffered unprecedented disruptions to the global supply chain during and after the Covid pandemic that have had far-reaching implications, including pigment shortages. Memjet has thus opened a state-of-the-art dye ink production plant in Sydney that leverages deep and reliable local supply chains, developing advanced dye-based ink formulations to replace low-supply dyes.

Transition procedure

To switch to the new DA ink, there is a specific procedure that includes:

1. Update the printer firmware to version R16.2

2. Drain and replace all inks and PH at the same time

3. Install an updated color profile, so that DA inks are able to produce prints similar to DG and a wider range of colors to DN.

The printer models and corresponding ink cartridges affected by this change are as follows:

VP700/VP610 – 250 ml DG ink cartridges (all colors)

VP750/VP660 – 250 ml DG ink cartridges (all colors)

VP600/VP500 – 250 ml DG ink cartridges (all colors)

VP650/VP550 – 250 ml DG ink cartridges (all colors)

The improved performance of the new DA ink

The new DA ink, also available in the DA-W version for greater water resistance, offers numerous advantages over the previous DG and DN, including:

- Significantly longer printhead life and an improved safety profile.

-Wider color range to produce bright and saturated colors.

- Premium printing and a competitive cost per page

.

- Wide spectrum of saturated shades and colors, maximum optical density (OD) of black.

- Reduction of light and water fastness

- Less ink to achieve vitality, resulting in the ability to achieve optimal coverage while reducing the cost per print.

- Excellent drop formation, controlled spread of drops, and fast drying times on the supports.

Because they are formulated with over 70% water, DA inks are safe to use and environmentally friendly.

What might have seemed like an insurmountable problem turned into an opportunity for VipColor to offer a superior product!
